Meet Janine

Janine is a character developed by Author-Illustrator Maryann Cocca-Leffler, based on her daughter, the real Janine Leffler who truly is an inspiration. She bravely gave her mother permission to tell her story so to give strength to children with disabilities and encourage tolerance in all.

Janine Leffler has become a role model to children and adults, whether disabled or not, as she encourages them to focus on abilities, not disabilities. Janine loves to read, write poetry and attend musical theater performances. Janine has a BA in communications and lives in NH.

Maryann Cocca-Leffler
